How to use the monthly calendar

1. Choose the Month and enter the Year.
2. Set Week starts on to Monday or Sunday.
3. Tick Notes column if you want a lined column beside the grid.
4. Add a Label (optional), such as a team or family name, and pick a Colour for the heading, the day-name bar and weekend dates.
5. Choose Orientation and Paper size, then press Print / Save as PDF above the preview.

What it does and when to use it

A printed month on the wall works for the whole household or team without anyone opening an app. Use it for school terms, shift patterns, a club’s fixtures, a content calendar, or a habit tracker where you cross off each day. The large day boxes leave room for two or three short notes.

How it works

The tool finds the weekday of the 1st of the month and the number of days in it, then fills a grid of seven columns, leaving blank shaded boxes before the 1st and after the last day. Day numbers sit at the top left of each box in bold type.

The month and year print as a large heading in your colour, with the label to its right in grey. Day names use three letters. Page margins are 12 mm, and the row height is the page height minus 54 mm, divided by the number of weeks, so the grid always fills the page. The notes column is 48 mm wide with ruled lines.

Worked examples

November 2026, Monday first (the preset). 1 November 2026 is a Sunday, so the first row has six blank boxes and the 1st sits in the last column. The month needs 6 rows, and on A4 landscape each row is 26 mm tall. The last date, 30, falls on a Monday.

The same month, Sunday first. Now the 1st is in the first column and the month fits in 5 rows, each 31.2 mm tall.

February 2028 for a club. Month February, year 2028, Sunday first, portrait, notes column off, label “Swim club”. 2028 is a leap year, so the grid ends on the 29th. It needs 5 rows, and on portrait A4 each row is 48.6 mm tall, which leaves plenty of space to write.

Limits and tips

• One month per page. There is no year-at-a-glance layout.
• Set the print scale to 100% and margins to “Default” or “None” in your browser’s print window, so the grid is not reduced.
• If your printer cannot print to the edge, a thin strip near the border may be cut off; check the print preview first.
