About Developer Studio

Developer Studio is the largest part of ToolsRift, with 266 tools across seven categories. Paste a payload into the JSON Formatter and get the exact line and column of any syntax error. Decode a token with the JWT Debugger, test a pattern with the Regex Tester, read a schedule with the Cron Parser, or compare two files with the Diff Checker. Generators write starter files such as a .gitignore, Dockerfile, GitHub Actions workflow or tsconfig, and the JSON to TypeScript converter infers types from every item in an array, not only the first.

None of this needs a server. Formatting, parsing and decoding run as JavaScript in your browser, so API keys, tokens and customer data you paste stay on your machine. The IP Info tool, for example, analyses an address locally and makes no lookup request. Libraries such as Prettier and sql-formatter load only when a tool needs them. Generated YAML and JSON files are checked by automated tests that parse every output, and formatters say plainly when a language has no full formatter and only basic re-indenting is applied.

Frequently asked questions

Is it safe to paste a production JWT or API key?
The tools run locally and do not send what you paste anywhere. Even so, treat live secrets with care: rotate any key that has been shared, and prefer test tokens when you can.
Which languages can the formatters handle?
JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, SCSS, HTML, JSON, YAML, GraphQL, Markdown, XML and SQL in 17 dialects use full formatters. PHP, Java, C, C++ and C# get a brace-aware re-indent, and the tool says so.
Does the cron parser support seconds?
It reads standard five-field cron and six-field expressions with seconds first, explains the schedule in plain English and lists the next run times so you can check it.
Can I use the generated config files in commercial projects?
Yes. The output is yours. The License Generator gives short licences such as MIT in full from the SPDX list, and for Apache-2.0, MPL-2.0 or GPL-3.0 gives the official notice and a link to the full text.
Why does the JSON validator warn about large numbers?
JavaScript cannot represent integers above 2 to the power of 53 exactly, so such values may change when parsed. The validator flags them, and duplicate keys, before they cause bugs.
