How to use the address label sheet
- Paste your addresses into Addresses (blank line between each). Each line of an address becomes a line on the label.
- Choose your Label sheet from the list. Its code is printed on the label box.
- Adjust Font size (6 to 20 pt) and Align (Left or Centre).
- If some labels are already used, set Skip used labels at the start. For return-address labels, tick Fill the sheet with the first address (return-address labels).
- Press Print / Save as PDF. Print a test on plain paper first, then use Nudge right and Nudge down to correct any shift.
What it does and when to use it
Addressing invitations, cards or a small mail-out by hand is slow, and lining text up with labels in a word processor is fiddly. This tool places each address at the position of each label, so you only feed the sheet into the printer.
Tidy the list first with the contact list formatter. For one important letter, print straight onto the envelope with the envelope addresser, and for events, the name badge maker uses a similar layout for badges.
How it works
Each address block is placed as a box of the label’s width and height at the label’s position on the page. The position is the sheet’s top and left margin plus the label pitch (the distance from one label to the next) times its column and row. Text is centred vertically with 2.5 mm padding top and bottom and 4 mm at the sides. Extra addresses flow onto a second sheet.

Worked examples
Three addresses on L7163 (the preset). The result shows Labels used: 3, Sheets: 1 and Labels per sheet: 14. The first label starts 4.7 mm from the left and 15.1 mm from the top, and the second sits beside it at 106.3 mm, one pitch of 101.6 mm across.
A part-used L7160 sheet. With 19 labels skipped, the first two addresses fill labels 20 and 21 and the third moves to the top-left of a second sheet, so Sheets: 2.
Return labels with a nudge. On L7165 with 3 labels skipped, the first address repeated and Nudge right set to 1.5 mm, the tool fills the other 5 labels (Labels used: 5). Every label position moves 1.5 mm to the right, so the left column starts 6.2 mm from the edge instead of 4.7 mm.
Limits and tips
- Text that does not fit is cut off at the label edge. Use a smaller font or shorter lines for long addresses.
- Use labels made for your printer type, laser or inkjet.
