How to use WiFi QR Code Generator

Which phones can join a network by scanning?

Both iPhone (iOS 11 and later) and Android (version 10 and later) read WiFi QR codes with the built-in camera app and offer a Join Network prompt. Older Android phones may need a QR scanner app, and the code still shows the network details in plain text as a fallback.

Is my WiFi password sent anywhere?

No. The code is built entirely inside your browser using the standard WIFI:T:WPA;S:name;P:password;; format, and nothing is uploaded, logged or stored. Close the tab and no trace of the password remains.

Should I use this for a hidden network?

Yes — tick the hidden network option and the code includes the H:true flag, which tells the phone to look for an SSID that is not broadcast. Without that flag some phones silently fail to connect to hidden networks.
