Where exactly is my note saved?

In this browser's localStorage on this device only. It survives closing the tab and restarting the computer, but it is not synced anywhere and another browser or another machine will not see it — export to .txt whenever the text matters.

What happens if I clear my browser data?

The note is deleted permanently along with cookies and site data, and there is no server copy to restore from. Private or incognito windows also discard it when you close them, so treat this as a scratchpad rather than long-term storage.

Is the notepad private?

Yes. Nothing you type is transmitted — there is no server request at all while you write. That makes it usable for a quick draft you would not want to paste into a cloud editor, though anyone with access to your computer can still open the same tab.
