How to use the wide spaced text tool

  1. Type your words into Your text (the sample is “Hello world”).
  2. Set Spaces between letters from 1 to 5. The default is 1.
  3. Set Spaces between words from 1 to 10. The default is 3, so word breaks stay visible.
  4. Press Copy under Styled text.

What it does and when to use it

Letter-spaced text has been a design trick for a long time: film titles, fashion labels and posters use it to look calm and expensive. In plain-text places such as captions, playlist names, channel headers and slide notes, this tool gives you the same effect without fonts or settings. Because the letters stay standard, it is less likely to show as empty boxes than most fancy styles.

For finer control over spacing in longer text, try space between letters. For the wide “aesthetic” letters themselves, see fullwidth text. To clean up spacing afterwards, the extra space remover collapses runs of spaces.

How it works

For each line, the tool:

  1. trims spaces from both ends,
  2. splits the line into words wherever there is one or more spaces or tabs,
  3. splits each word into the characters you see (so accents and emoji stay whole),
  4. joins the characters with your Spaces between letters count and the words with your Spaces between words count.

Only the normal space character (U+0020) is used. Line breaks are kept, so a two-line title stays on two lines, and an empty line stays empty.

Worked examples

From the tool’s own function:

  • vapor wave with the defaults → v a p o r w a v e. The stray spaces at the ends are gone and the messy gap became exactly three spaces.
  • OPEN LATE with 2 between letters and 5 between words → O P E N L A T E, a wide sign-style look.
  • café 🍕 → c a f é 🍕. The é and the emoji each count as one character.

Limits and tips

  • Accessibility. The letters are real, but a screen reader will usually spell the word out one letter at a time (“v, a, p, o, r”), and search will not find “vapor” inside “v a p o r”. Keep names and key information unspaced.
  • Narrow screens. Spaced text wraps sooner and can break a word across lines.
  • Spacing is added in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Why do the words look joined together after I post?
Some apps and web pages collapse several spaces into one. Then the gap between words shrinks to the same size as the gap between letters. Try a larger Spaces between words value, or use a dot or line between words instead.
What happens to the extra spaces in my original text?
Spaces at the start and end of each line are removed, and any run of spaces or tabs between words counts as one word break. The tool then adds exactly the gaps you chose.
Does it work with accents and emoji?
Yes. The tool splits text into the characters you see, so é stays one letter and an emoji such as 🍕 is never broken into pieces.
How is this different from fullwidth text?
Fullwidth text swaps each letter for a different, wider character. This tool keeps the normal letters and only adds plain spaces, so it pastes anywhere. Compare the look with the fullwidth text generator.
How do I undo the spacing?
Keep your original text. Removing spaces automatically would also join the words, because the tool's gaps are ordinary spaces.
