How to use the random trivia generator

1. Choose a Category: Any, Science, Geography, History, Nature or General.
2. Set How many questions, from 1 to 30.
3. Press New questions. A numbered list appears, each question tagged with its category.
4. Click Reveal answer under a question to show its answer. The Answer key table below lists every answer and can be copied or downloaded as CSV.

What it does and when to use it

Use it to run a quick pub-style quiz at home, start a lesson with three warm-up questions, fill a gap on a long journey, or make a printable answer sheet for a club quiz night. Because the answers are folded away, one person can read the question, let everyone guess, then click to check.

How it works

Each question in the list has an answer and a category. The tool keeps the questions in your chosen category, shuffles them with a Fisher–Yates shuffle that uses crypto.getRandomValues, and takes the first ones, so every question has the same chance and none repeats within a set. If you ask for more than the category holds, you simply get all of them.

The Reveal answer links are plain HTML folding sections, so they work without any script and the answers are never sent anywhere.

Worked examples

Every Nature question. Nature with How many 30 returns all 13 nature questions in random order. The answer key includes “How many hearts does an octopus have?” with the answer Three, and “What is a baby kangaroo called?” with A joey.

A history round. History with How many 30 gives all 14 history questions, among them “In which year did the Berlin Wall fall?” (1989) and “Who painted the Mona Lisa?” (Leonardo da Vinci).

Warm-up for a class. Any with How many 3 gives three mixed questions; press New questions for the next lesson.

Limits and tips

• The list is short, so regular players will meet questions again. Draw the whole category once and keep the sheet for a no-repeat quiz.
• Questions are in English only.
• Read answers out with care; some accept more than one form, such as “Frogs or toads”.
• Everything runs in your browser.
