How to use the Fraktur text generator

1. Type or paste into Your text.
2. Choose a Weight: Regular 𝔄 or Bold 𝕬.
3. Read the result in Styled text; it updates as you type.
4. Press Copy and paste it where you need it.

What it does and when to use it

Fraktur gives text a medieval, heavy-metal or old-newspaper look. It is popular for band names, clan tags, fantasy role-play, Halloween captions and “old world” brand mock-ups. Short words read best; Fraktur capitals can be hard to tell apart (𝔄 and 𝔘, 𝔅 and 𝔙, ℑ and 𝔍), so long sentences get tiring.

Mathematicians use some of these letters too: ℜ and ℑ stand for the real and imaginary parts of a complex number, and 𝔤 often names a Lie algebra.

How it works

Each letter is replaced with a character from Unicode’s Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block:

The five borrowed capitals existed before the maths alphabet was added, so their slots in the newer block were left empty. The tool fills those gaps automatically. Anything that is not a basic A–Z or a–z letter is copied as typed.

Worked examples

Outputs from the tool’s own function:

• Gothic Rider 1, Regular → 𝔊𝔬𝔱𝔥𝔦𝔠 ℜ𝔦𝔡𝔢𝔯 1. The R is borrowed (ℜ) and the 1 stays plain.
• Metal, Bold → 𝕸𝖊𝖙𝖆𝖑. Bold Fraktur is one complete run, so every letter matches.
• Hi, Regular → ℌ𝔦. The H is the borrowed ℌ.

Limits and tips

• Accessibility and search. These are maths symbols to a computer. Screen readers may spell them out as “mathematical fraktur capital G” or skip them, and search will not match them to the normal word. Put important names and links in plain letters.
• No accents. é, ü and ß have no Fraktur forms and stay plain, which can look odd in German or French words.
• Conversion happens in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
