How to use the flip case converter
- Paste your text into Your text. The sample is “Hello World, THIS is Flipped”.
- The Styled text box shows the inverted version immediately.
- Press Copy and paste it back where it belongs.
What it does and when to use it
The most practical use is repairing Caps Lock accidents. When Caps Lock is on and you still press Shift for capitals, you get text like “dEAR sIR, tHANK yOU”. Retyping is tedious; flipping the case fixes it in one go. Flip case is also used for playful styling, such as “tHE cOOL kIDS” in a username, and for testing how software handles mixed case.
For other case jobs, use the case converter. To reverse the order of words rather than their case, try reverse word order; for alternating caps, see mocking SpongeBob case.
How it works
For each character, the tool asks two questions: what is its uppercase form, and what is its lowercase form? If the character already equals its uppercase form, it is switched to lowercase; otherwise it is switched to uppercase. This uses the browser’s built-in Unicode case rules, so it works for Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, Armenian and other alphabets with capitals. Characters with no case, like digits, equal their own uppercase form, and lowering them changes nothing.
Worked examples
From the tool’s own function:
cAPS lOCK oN→Caps Lock On, a typical Caps Lock repair.McDonald's 24/7→mCdONALD'S 24/7. The apostrophe, digits and slash stay as they are.straße→STRASSE. German ß has no single-letter capital in standard case rules, so it becomes two letters and the word grows by one.
Limits and tips
- No smart fixes. The tool does not know that “iPhone” or “McDonald’s” should keep special capitals; it flips every letter. Check names after a Caps Lock repair.
- Readability. Flipped text is ordinary letters, so screen readers and search handle it, but long runs of capitals are harder for everyone to read and can feel like shouting. Use the result only where the case is what you meant.
- Your text is changed in the browser and is never uploaded.
