How to use the PDF page duplicator
- Drop a PDF onto the box or press Choose a file.
- In Page to duplicate, type the page number you want to repeat.
- In Extra copies, type how many more copies you need (1 to 500). The original stays, so 3 extra copies give 4 of that page in total.
- Press Duplicate and download the result, named with
-duplicatedadded.
What it does and when to use it
Repeating a page is handy whenever one sheet is a template:
- Timesheets and logs. A one-page weekly timesheet copied four times gives a month’s worth to print in one go.
- Answer and lined sheets. Add extra answer pages after an exam paper’s last page, or extra ruled pages to a printed notebook PDF.
- Labels and tickets. Fill a sheet once, then repeat it for as many sheets as you need to print.
- Separator or cover pages that should appear more than once in a pack, which you can then move into place with the PDF page reorder tool.

How it works
pdf-lib (@cantoo/pdf-lib) opens the PDF in your browser and builds a new page order in which the chosen page is followed by its copies. Each copy is made by copying the page object inside the same document. Before the page list is rewritten, settings that pages can inherit from a parent (size, rotation, fonts) are copied onto each page, so the copies look the same as the original. The file is saved with compressed object streams. Nothing is uploaded, and no extra data is downloaded.
Worked examples
These come from a 12-page A4 file.
Three extra copies of page 2. Page to duplicate 2, Extra copies 3. The summary reads Page 2 copied 3× → 15 pages. Pages 2, 3, 4 and 5 of the new file are identical, and the old page 3 is now page 6.
A page that does not exist. Page to duplicate 20 gives Page 20 is out of range — this PDF has 12 pages. Nothing is saved.
A cover printed twice. Page to duplicate 1, Extra copies 1 gives a 13-page file whose first two pages are the cover, ready for a front and back cover on a binding machine.
Limits and tips
- Copies are exact, including any printed page numbers. Add fresh numbers afterwards with PDF page numbering.
- Each copy adds pages to the file; check the result with the PDF page counter before printing a large batch.
- Password-protected files must be unlocked first with Unlock PDF.
