How to use the product description generator
- Type the Product name and Product type, for example “Trailhead 28L Backpack” and “daypack”.
- List Key features (one per line).
- Fill in For (the audience) and Main benefit, written as something the customer can do.
- Choose a Tone: Mixed, Persuasive, Minimal, Premium, Playful or Technical.
- Set How many, change Variation to reshuffle, then copy and edit the draft you like.
What it does and when to use it
Small shops often have dozens of products and no time to write a fresh description for each. This tool gives you a few structured starting points in a consistent voice, so a whole range of products can sound like the same brand. It is useful for online stores, marketplace listings, printed catalogues and product cards on a landing page.
For the page around your products, try the about us page generator. For headlines above a product section, use the headline generator, and for the button below it, the CTA generator.
How it works
The tool has three templates for each tone:
| Tone | What the drafts do |
|---|---|
| Persuasive | Lead with the benefit and invite the reader in |
| Minimal | Very short lines: name, type, features |
| Premium | Words such as “made with care” and “considered design” |
| Playful | Friendly, exclamation marks, “your new favourite” |
| Technical | Plain statements and a full feature list |
Features are split at line breaks and commas. Up to three are picked in a seeded random order and joined as “A, B and C” inside sentences; templates with a bullet list show every feature, capitalised, in your original order. If you leave the benefit or audience empty, the templates fall back to simpler wording, such as “get more done”. The same inputs and Variation always give the same drafts, and nothing is sent to a server or an AI.
Worked examples
Technical tone. With the sample backpack, one draft reads Overview: Trailhead 28L Backpack, a daypack for commuters and weekend hikers. Includes 3 key features: water-resistant recycled fabric; padded laptop sleeve; side bottle pockets. Another adds a “Key features:” bullet list.
Persuasive tone. One draft opens Meet Trailhead 28L Backpack: the daypack for commuters and weekend hikers that helps you carry everything comfortably from desk to trail. It then lists three features. Notice that “Meet Trailhead…” would read better as “Meet the Trailhead…”, the kind of small edit to expect.
Minimal, name and type only. With features, audience and benefit empty, you get short lines such as Trailhead 28L Backpack — daypack, simplified.
Limits and tips
- Product names are used exactly as typed, so articles like “the” are not added.
- The drafts are short, a sentence or two plus bullets. Longer pages need your own detail: size charts, materials, delivery, returns.
- Read the premium and playful drafts aloud; they suit some brands and sound odd for others.
