How to use the Instagram hashtag generator
- Type your Niche or topic, such as “plant care”.
- Add Related keywords (comma-separated), such as “houseplants, monstera, urban jungle”.
- Optionally add a Location to make local tags.
- Set How many (Instagram allows up to 30).
- Change Variation for a different mix, then copy the Copy all line or single tags from the list.
What it does and when to use it
Hashtags help people who browse a topic find your post. Typing 20 or 30 of them by hand for every post is slow, and it is easy to make typos or forget useful variations. This tool gives you a starting list built from your own vocabulary, in a format you can paste straight under a caption or into a first comment.
Write the caption itself with the Instagram caption generator. If the post promotes a product, the product description generator can help with the text in your shop. For video titles on the same subject, try the YouTube title generator.
How it works
Every word or phrase is lower-cased and stripped of spaces and symbols, so “urban jungle” becomes urbanjungle. The tags are then added in this order, skipping repeats:
- Your topic and each keyword as they are.
- If you gave a location, the first three of those plus the location, such as
plantcarelondon. - Every word combined with endings from a fixed list (tips, daily, life, community, inspo, ideas, lover, lovers, goals, journey, 101, gram, ofinstagram, addict, time, style, love, world, share), in an order set by the Variation number.
The list is cut to your chosen number. Tags of one character or over 60 characters are dropped. No data is fetched and nothing leaves your browser.
Worked examples
Default plant care. Topic “plant care”, three keywords, location “London”, 30 tags. The list starts #plantcare #houseplants #monstera #urbanjungle #plantcarelondon, followed by the other location tags and 23 combined tags.
Topic only, five tags. No keywords, no location, How many 5. The result is #plantcare #plantcarelovers #plantcaredaily #plantcarelove #plantcareideas.
Accents and a two-word city. Topic “Café Latte”, keywords “latte art, barista”, location “São Paulo”, 8 tags. Accents stay and spaces go, giving tags such as #cafélattesãopaulo and #latteartsãopaulo.
Limits and tips
- Some combinations will not make sense for your post, such as
#urbanjungleshare. Delete them; fewer relevant tags beat many random ones. - The endings are in English. For other languages, type translated keywords yourself.
- Avoid copying the same 30 tags onto every post; pick the ones that fit each picture.
