How to use the CTA generator
- Choose the Goal: Sign-ups, Free trial, Purchase, Download, Subscribe, Contact, Booking or Learn more.
- Optionally type a Product or offer name, such as “Northwind Pro” or “the Starter Kit”.
- Tick Add “today” to some for a gentle sense of timing.
- Set How many and change Variation for a different order.
- Copy one or two phrases to test on your button.
What it does and when to use it
A call to action (CTA) is the short text on a button or link that asks the reader to act. It is only two to five words, yet it is one of the most visible pieces of text on a page. This tool gives you a set of plain, action-first options for each common goal, so you can pick one that matches what really happens after the click.
For the headline above the button, try the headline generator. If the button sits at the end of an email, the subject line generator helps get the email opened first. For the product text around the button, see the product description generator. To build the button itself in HTML, use the HTML button generator.
How it works
Every goal has its own fixed list. A few examples:
| Goal | Sample phrases |
|---|---|
| Free trial | Start your free trial · Try {offer} free |
| Purchase | Buy now · Add to cart · Get {offer} |
| Download | Get the free guide · Download {offer} |
| Contact | Get in touch · Request a quote |
| Booking | Reserve your spot · Check availability |
The list is shuffled with a seeded random number generator based on the Variation number and goal, and your offer name is inserted exactly as you typed it, so include “the” if you want it. The same settings always give the same list. No AI is involved, and nothing leaves your browser.
Worked examples
Default free trial. Goal Free trial, offer “Northwind Pro”. The six buttons include Try Northwind Pro free, Start your free trial and Start free — no card needed.
With “today”. The same settings with Add “today” ticked change the second and fifth phrases to Try it free today and Start your free trial today.
A product purchase. Goal Purchase, offer “the Starter Kit”, 8 buttons. The list includes Get the Starter Kit and Buy the Starter Kit alongside Add to cart and Order now.
Contact without an offer. Goal Contact, offer empty. You get seven phrases, such as Get in touch, Book a call and Request a quote.
Limits and tips
- Match the button to the next step. “Book a call” should open a calendar, not a contact form.
- Use one main CTA per section; several competing buttons make people hesitate.
- Test changes one at a time if you measure clicks.
