Energy in kWh = watts × hours / 1000, then cost = kWh × tariff. A 1000 W device run 3 hours uses 3 kWh; at ₹8 per unit that is ₹24 a day.
A kilowatt-hour is the energy of 1000 watts running for one hour, and it is the unit your electricity provider bills. The tariff is the price per kWh.
