How is WPM calculated?

WPM = (correct characters typed ÷ 5) ÷ minutes elapsed. Five characters count as one standard 'word', which is the industry-standard method.

What is a good typing speed?

Average is around 40 WPM. 60+ WPM is good, 80+ is fast, and professional typists often exceed 100 WPM. Accuracy above 95% matters as much as speed.
