How to use the Friday the 13th finder
- Set the From date. It is filled in with today’s date by the UTC calendar, which near your midnight may be a day off, so check it.
- Choose How many to list, from 1 to 100. It starts at 10.
- Read the Next Friday the 13th, the Days until it, and how many fall in the From date’s year.
- The Upcoming table lists each date in YYYY-MM-DD form with its month and days to go. Copy it or use CSV to download it.
What it does and when to use it
It is a fun date to plan around, for horror film nights or themed parties. Others just like to know when it is coming so they can joke about it. The long list is useful for event organisers who want the next few years at a glance.
For a running count to one of the dates, enter it in the days until calculator. To check what weekday any other 13th falls on, use the day of the week finder. If you are deciding on a party date by chance, the coin flip can settle it.
How it works
The tool checks the 13th of each month, starting with the From date’s month, and keeps those that are on or after the From date and fall on a Friday. It stops when it has as many as you asked for. Weekdays come from a day count since 1 January 1970, using plain calendar dates with no clock time, so your time zone cannot move a result. The year count simply looks at all twelve 13ths of the From date’s year.
A handy rule: a month has a Friday the 13th exactly when its first day is a Sunday.
Worked examples
From 7 October 2026, five dates. Next Friday the 13th: Friday, 13 November 2026, 37 days away. 2026 holds three (February, March and November). The list continues 2027-08-13, 2028-10-13, 2029-04-13 and 2029-07-13.
From 1 January 2028. The first one is 13 October 2028, 286 days ahead, and Friday the 13ths in 2028: 1, the smallest number a year can have.
On the day. From 13 November 2026, the date itself counts, so Days until: Today. The next two follow in August 2027 and October 2028.
Limits and tips
- The list stops at 100 dates. From 7 October 2026 that reaches April 2085, so for later dates move the From date forward.
- The tool uses the Gregorian calendar for all years, back to year 1.
