How to use Gauge Chart Maker

Enter the value, the minimum and maximum for the scale, an optional target and a unit suffix, choose a colour theme, then download the gauge as SVG or PNG.

Frequently asked questions

What is a gauge chart good for?

A gauge is best for one number measured against a known range — utilisation, a completion percentage, a score, or a target attainment. It answers 'how far along are we' at a glance, which is why gauges are common on executive dashboards.

Can I set my own range and target?

Yes. Enter any minimum and maximum, including ranges that start above zero, and set an optional target value that is drawn as a marker on the arc. The needle position and the percentage read-out both respect your range.

What happens if the value is outside the range?

The needle is clamped to the end of the arc so the dial never draws outside itself, and the numeric read-out still shows your true value so nothing is hidden. That makes over-target results obvious rather than misleading.
