How to use Color Temperature Tool

Enter a color to see its warm or cool classification, then generate a palette across the temperature range.

Frequently asked questions

What makes a color warm or cool?

Warm colors sit in the red-orange-yellow range and cool colors in the blue-green-violet range of the color wheel.

How is temperature judged here?

The tool analyzes the hue to place your color on a warm-to-cool scale and can build matching palettes.

Is this the same as Kelvin light temperature?

It is inspired by it — lower Kelvin light is warm (orange) and higher Kelvin is cool (blue), which mirrors the hue scale.
