How to use Audio Channel Splitter

Load a stereo audio file and press Split Channels. The left and right tracks appear as separate players, each with its own download button for a mono WAV.

Frequently asked questions

When is splitting channels useful?

Interview recorders often put each microphone on its own channel, so splitting gives you a clean track per speaker. It also rescues recordings where one channel is damaged and the other is fine.

What happens with a mono file?

A mono source has only one channel, so the tool tells you that and offers the single track for download rather than producing two identical files. Nothing is silently duplicated.

Does splitting change the audio?

No. Each channel's samples are copied out unchanged into its own WAV file at the original sample rate, so the split tracks are bit-for-bit the same audio you started with.
