How to use Solid Color Image
- Pick the Colour (blue #2563eb at first) with the colour box or by typing a hex code.
- Set Width and Height in pixels, from 1 to 8000 (both start at 1080).
- Set Opacity (0–100%, default 100%).
- The PNG updates as you type. Check Size, Colour and PNG file, then download. The file is named after the colour and size, such as 2563eb-1080x1080.png.
What it does and when to use it
A plain colour image sounds trivial, yet it is often needed:
- Backgrounds for slides, videos, social posts and phone wallpapers in a brand colour.
- Spacers and filler in a video editor or slideshow, such as a black frame between clips.
- Testing an upload form, an image pipeline or a screen for dead pixels with pure red, green, blue, white and black.
- Colour swatches to send to a printer or client alongside a hex code.
- Transparent canvases of an exact size to start a design.
For a fade between colours, use Gradient Image. For a grey box labelled with its own size, use the Placeholder Generator. To check how a colour converts to RGB, HSL or other formats first, try the Color Converter.
How it works
The tool fills every pixel of a width × height canvas with the same red, green, blue and alpha values. Opacity sets alpha as a share of 255. The pixels are then compressed with a built-in PNG encoder at its highest compression level, all in your browser.

The last row shows the limits at work: sizes are clamped, so you always get a valid image.
A video spacer. Black, 1920 × 1080, Opacity 100% gives a full-HD black frame to drop between clips.
Limits and tips
- Opacity 0% gives a fully transparent image, whatever colour is picked.
- The colour is stored exactly as you choose it; no colour profile is added.
- Very large sizes, such as 8000 × 8000 px, take a moment to build and use a lot of memory on phones.
