What is CMYK?

Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Key (black) — the subtractive color model used by printers, expressed as 0–100% ink coverage.

Is CMYK to RGB exact?

This uses the standard mathematical conversion. True print color also depends on ICC profiles and paper, so treat it as a close approximation.

Why does RGB→CMYK→RGB shift slightly?

CMYK has a smaller gamut and the rounding to whole percentages loses a little precision, so round-trips can differ by a point or two.
